sugarsync

The sugarsync that Mr Opigo linked on this blog is another super way of collaborating and sharing files. I tried it and it works so well. All should try it!

A new way of doing business

Many thanks Ousman for summarizing the useful knowledge acquired during these 5 days workshop. It was really interesting to be part of this wonderful journey and I'm glad to be given the opportunity to interact with such inspired people. The Web 2.0 tools are bringing a deep transformation in our ways of doing business, depending on our specific areas of interest. By applying some of these tools, I'm feeling how effective and efficient are the exchanges, sharings and interactions with my colleagues, friends and family. Googledocs, dropbox, Googlemaps, Picasa, and many more are simply amazing.

Good News!

The Light Image Resizer software we used to optimise our photos during the Workshop is available for FREE!

The owners of the software require you to do just one thing to get a free licence. They want you to go to their Facebook page and click the "Like" button and immediately an unlock code will be given to you on the spot.

This is the link to their Facebook page: Click here

Final Day on the Web 2.0 workshop

The last day was as educative and interesting as the first. I learnt a lot on so many things. We learned on the last day how to join Linkedin and upload our CV into Linkedin. We also went on to learn other things like Dropbox, Box and all their facilities and how to use them. The efficient instructors also took us through on a special google facility Picasa which is Web album facility that helps to manage photos. All we learned is really difficult for me to summarise because it is a lot.

I have come to realise through this training that the use of virus prone flash-drives and attachments is history. With the techniques we learned, one can access his/her files wherever he/she is once they have access to internet. It was really amazing how  we where able to share and collaborate on documents so easily and efficiently.

On behave of everyone i would like to thank CTA for organising such a workshop. Am appealing to all the participants to make good use of the knowledge gained to better the functions and the running of the institutions they represented.
